Each and every thirty day period Eric Wentling choses a photo to encourage his wife Sarajo.  She then shares it with the FB group and asks us to engage in alongside with creations we make impressed her husband’s photograph.

Here is what Eric wrote about this month’s image of Pitcher Crops:
This month I chose a picture from our current journey out to Ligonier, PA for the Allegory Gallery’s Innovative Camp.  Andrew Thornton directed us out to a nearby lavatory the place the carnivorous crops were being in complete bloom.  An whole industry of these pitcher plants and much more compact sundews stretched all over us–magnificence and savagery all wrapped up in just one tiny leafy bundle.  The bizarre shape, as nicely as the striated deep crimson designs towards environmentally friendly truly jumped out at me and I wished to see what a bunch of jewelry designers could pull off with this inspiration!
I could not resist the obstacle of these exotic pitcher plants and the attractive colors they are sporting in their one of a kind garb.  So I am taking part in alongside.  This is my very first time.

I was so enamored of these cool vegetation and the colour combo of burgundy and lime eco-friendly that I went to perform proper absent.
My first piece was a fern leaf in the pitcher plant palette.  I was performing in  polymer clay and have been considering the fact that I broke my ankle a number of months ago and could not have entry to my studio because of to the stairs. I count on to get started working yet again in ceramic clay in Sept.

I was actually energized to try out modeling a pitcher plant from polymer clay.  I come across that polymer is like magic for me when it comes to make 3 dimentional varieties.  Here is the to start with pitcher plant I arrived up with:

So significantly it does not have a stringing gap that would display it proper side up.  I prepare to insert a stringing loop before long.  This is one of the issues I enjoy about polymer:  it can be modified way following it is remedied by just curing all over again.

Then I made a smaller pitcher plant that has a stringing loop.

I entirely enjoyed staying inspred by the pitcher vegetation photograph.  Thanks so much Eric and Sarajo.

I  hope you audience will take a glance at the other creations in the backlinks under.

Thanks so considerably for stopping by!!
