Holiday Creations Art Elements Blog Hop
About the time I uncovered the topic for this month’s Art Features blog site hop: Holiday Creations, I was planning to make a set of kitty cat themed ornaments for a tree for our growing old cat. We have a new glassed in front porch and thought it would be a great way to enhance it for the Vacations. And for ceramic ornaments, it would be safe and sound from the elements.
For the past few years we have been obtaining an outside tree rather on 1 within. We have it out on the deck and enhance it with brightly colored netted bird treats. It is so enjoyable seeing the birds flutter all over the tree and peck at these “house baked” goodies of birdseed and peanut butter. So this year we have 2 Xmas trees.
For our kitty cat tree, I made use of cat shaped cutters to minimize out the decorations.
They appeared very significant at initially but my clay shrinks about 11 % so they looked a lot improved at the time they had been bisque fired.
I used two solutions to provide my cat decorations to life. For some I silk screened on cat drawings (Mayco silkscreens) bisqued them and then included color
and for some others I did some drawing into the clay. They dried genuinely immediately so by the time I got to them to scratch in some strains, the incisions were not very deep. To improve them I utilised a black underglaze and then wiped it off, bisque fired them
and then hand painted on glazes and fired all those to cone 5 ( over 2100 degrees F)
Lastly I adorned the tree.
Our cat who impressed me
Thank you for signing up for me on this Artwork Features blog hop today. I had this sort of enjoyable creating these ornaments and decorating the tree. We enjoy it just about every time we phase on to our porch.
The listing of weblog hop members is under. I hope you will check out all of them and get pleasure from their Holiday getaway Creations.
