The Rimmel The Multi-Tasker Concealer launched last summer, and I was excited to try it, as I tend to really enjoy Rimmel foundations and Rimmel concealers. Although their new Rimmel Kind & Free Moisturising Skin Tint Foundation really wasn’t great, but I can tell you this concealer is considerably better.
“The Multi-Tasker Concealer covers up blemishes, brightens dark circles and covers to even out skin tone. The super-sized soft-touch wand with built-in product reservoir lets you add precise full coverage wherever you need it – on blemishes and under the eyes or all over the face. The buildable high-pigment makeup formula glides on and blends into skin perfectly to create a brighter-looking, smooth, even canvas. The colour corrector lasts all day, so you can say bye-bye to breakouts, discolouration, redness, pigmentation, acne scars and visible pores. ”
Key Benefits
- It’s a liquid concealer that helps cover up imperfections
- The lightweight and non-greasy formula doesn’t smudge, cake or flake
- Its supersized soft-touch wand allows for precise application
- The makeup also delivers up to 24-hours’ hydration effect
- Crease-proof, transfer-proof and waterproof
The Rimmel The Multi-Tasker Concealer is available in just ten shades, and is £8.49, which is kinda expensive for Rimmel, but you get 10ml of product, so it’s a pretty big tube, which makes the higher price understandable. Although Rimmel’s prices have been gradually increasing over the last year or so, like many drugstore and luxury beauty brands.
This concealer has a chunky, big flocked doefoot applicator, and I chose the palest shade available; 010 Porcelain. I didn’t expect to get a good shade match with there only being ten shades, but it’s not bad at all. Porcelain is more warm-toned than I’d like, but as long as I’m very sparing with how much I apply.
I don’t know if Rimmel were trying to, but the Rimmel The Multi-Tasker Concealer actually reminds me of the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer; they even smell the same. The patterned metallic lid is also very similar to Tarte Shape Tape, so I would say they were intentionally trying to ’emulate’ the Tarte concealer – especially with the identical doefoot applicators.

In terms of formula, the Rimmel The Multi-Tasker Concealer is very thick when first applied, but when blended with a damp beauty sponge, it manages to be a lot more lightweight than the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. It is very much a full coverage concealer, but it doesn’t have the heaviness a full coverage concealer does, making it ideal for those with fine lines or dryness around the eyes.
It looks so flattering on the skin, and it doesn’t emphasise texture either, which is rare for a thick, full coverage concealer. It also lasts really well for a concealer, with around five hours of wear before fading, even when applied around the eyes, which tends to be where my concealer starts to fade first.
I think this might be my favourite Rimmel concealer I’ve tried. It covers everything you need it to cover, without making the skin look cakey, and it’s obviously considerably cheaper than Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, as well as being a lot more accessible for those of us in the UK.
