The Arizona Foundation for Resource Education is a leader
in creating highly skilled K-12 educators who positively impact
student achievement in Arizona classrooms, schools and districts.
AFRE provides top-quality, intellectually stimulating and
enjoyable professional development opportunities including:
- Cutting-edge, best practices workshops
- Classroom-based natural resource workshops
- Natural resource expeditionary learning experiences
- Ongoing, on-site teacher support, training and resources

- 7 FREE, one-day AZventure
Workshops and Study Tours that combine natural resource content knowledge and
best practices (7.5 professional development hours each).
Spring workshops will be announced in October 2008.
- 8 two-day Best
Practices Workshops (15 professional development hours each)
where you will learn what it takes to create and sustain a
higher-performing classroom and campus
Additional opportunities
- Make It Happen!
Teams of summer academy participants will compete to receive
support totaling as much as $5,000 per team member during the
2008-2009 academic year
- November 8, 2008 AZventure workshop participants can
apply for up to $5,000 in Project Learning Tree GreenWorks!
