Flagstaff

7:30 AM Check in, Event 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
7.5 Instructional Hours

Research shows that hands-on, real-world experiences are powerful ways to help students develop enduring understandings, but it is often difficult to implement these on a regular basis. Discover the many natural resource-related field trip possibilities within your own schoolyard! Learn how simple, everyday materials can be used to teach important scientific concepts. Although this workshop is especially designed to meet the needs of K-3 teachers, others will find the content easy to adapt for their own grade level.

Focus
Kitchen sink science, scientific inquiry and exploration, careers, problem-based learning
